The OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) looks at issues affecting teachers and their performance, seen through the eyes of school principals and the teachers themselves, with a view to filling important information gaps in the international comparisons of education systems.
TALIS came out ages ago, in 2009, which is light years in education time, where report after report on education quality comes out.
TALIS can be summed up thusly: leadership, professional development, collaborative behaviour, and incentives. These were the big issues the study identified.
Two years on, looking back, one is left to wonder: Did anyone take note of TALIS? Did you even get a chance to read the report?
