“Story Tellers: In Pursuit of Happiness” by Thomas Jerome Baker is an odd but very enchanting selection of stories. I was captivated by the magic that transpires through the stories.
Blending biblical, religious and folklore themes a story teller and a little one talk in an endearing and wonderful fashion with each other, covering the big flood, Leprachauns and Cloud Number Nine.
For me the combination of themes worked rather well, the warmth between the two characters and the teaching relationship was sweet and lovely. Explaining the beginning of mankind and its evolution was full of philosophical and stimulating thoughts about love and what it is to be human.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical, mystical, inspirational: A lovely story October 18, 2013
By J Maurice

This is a lovely story. The relationship between the Story Teller, Solomon, and his son, Little One, is very dear. The conversations they have are the kind of father and son talk all males should experience. Story Teller is teaching his son to become the new Story Teller, and this is how we are able to “hear” amazing stories involving Leprechauns, gold, mythology, Aquarius, Zephyr, Bacchus, Morpheus, and a host of other surreal characters. It seems impossible to bring such a wide diversity of stories into a cohesive whole, but Author Thomas Jerome Baker has achieved this amazing task. It is a story the whole family, both young and old, will enjoy.

In this book love is present everywhere. A father loves his son and tries to prepare the boy for his future as a Story Teller. The husband loves the wife. The wife loves the husband. A family cares for one another. An evil person causes heartache and pain, a fight for total domination of the world must be decided by the faith of a boy. This is an amazing story with some uncommon characters in the same book. Mythology and religion, scientists, poets and leprechauns, monsters and magicians await you between the covers of this book. This is a book that people of all ages will enjoy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story, wholesome family story October 15, 2013
By M. Sockel
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a wonderful, wholesome story the entire family will enjoy. There is the love of a father for his son, a husband for his wife, a journey from boyhood to manhood, magic and mysticism, mythology and religion, betrayal and deceit. The surprising ending will make you wonder about forgiveness and redemption, when is it justified, and when it might be better not to forgive someone. But each reader must decide for himself, that is the pleasure of reading this story. I recommend this book for readers of all ages, from 8 to infinity.

5.0 out of 5 stars uniquely told story forging myths, religions, and stories together November 11, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition
‘In Pursuit of Happiness’ by Thomas Baker is a uniquely told story which forges together many myths, religions, and stories in order to form something entirely new. When I first began reading, I was unsure of what to expect. The farther I read, however, the more captivated I became. I’m a great lover of myths and stories, and this book was well suited to my tastes. The writing is well crafted so that it flows freely from one part to the next. The ending, well, without giving too much away, I will say that the ending was perfect. It wrapped the entire story up in a nice, neat package and left me with a good final impression of the story as a whole. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, easy read, as well as to anyone who has an interest in myths, religion, or history.

Author Thomas Baker has written a fascinating book that brings the reader on a magical journey into the realm of ancient history and mythology. Written in delightfully stylistic prose, the book is meant to be read to children and it not only entertains, it also educates. I highly recommend Story Tellers: In Pursuit of Happiness. I’m glad I grabbed a copy.
